Vice President:

Roles & Responsibilities:
Vice Presidents at the fund are given significant responsibility, with top performers quickly migrating into a deal lead. VPs are relied upon for a wide range of activities; specific responsibilities include:
- Supporting senior investment team members and leading aspects of transaction execution and management of third-party service providers;
- Designing, structuring and carrying out due diligence analyses, including industry research, market and competitive assessments, transaction related financial modeling, analysis of company financials and operational data, etc.;
- Composing letters of intent and other deal related documents, including deal related presentation materials;
- Leading effort to translate letters of intent / term sheet to definitive deal documentation;
- Participating and being a point of contact in meetings with management teams / C-level leadership, intermediaries, and financing sources;
- Assisting in identification and evaluation of potential investment opportunities including business development activities (e.g. conferences, trade shows, management tours, etc.);
- Lead monitoring of initiatives to drive value creation within portfolio;
- Active board member or board observer roles;
- Involvement in range of firm-building activities, including business development, lender management, recruiting, training, etc.;
- Mentoring of junior professionals to develop core analytical, communication and presentation skills; and
- Active participation in firm decision-making processes.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate has at least 4-7 years of private equity, structured investment, investment banking and/or corporate development experience within the food and agriculture industry. A combination of experiences is ideal. This professional must have a history of professional and academic success and a high degree of intellectual horsepower. An ideal candidate will possess:
- A keen interest in investing, capital allocation and the overall global food supply chain from field to fork;
- Industry expertise and network of relevant industry relationships;
- Strong analytical skills including the ability to perform company valuations, prepare investment reports, and conduct rigorous diligence and analytical analyses;
- The ability to work closely with other professionals both within the firm and with portfolio companies; be highly collaborative with strong written and verbal communication skills;
- Extremely organized, detail oriented and proactive with the ability to multi-task, track responsibilities and meet deadlines;
- An inquiring, conscientious personality with a sincere interest in learning;
- The desire and ability to enjoy and contribute to a collegial, small-firm culture;
- The desire and ability to work in either the Davis, CA or Chicago, IL offices based on firm need; and

Associate:
Status: Full-time, Employee

Roles & Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and execute new investments in the food and agribusiness sectors by performing thorough and in-depth quantitative and qualitative analyses, due diligence and underwriting. This includes:
- Work directly with the senior team members and gain experience in the pursuit, analysis, and completion of investments;
- Development of detailed three statement financial models that include debt capacity, sensitivity analysis, capital structure options, joint-venture structures, etc.;
- Drafting investment committee memorandums and internal presentations;
- Performing industry, customer and supplier due diligence; and
- Presenting investment ideas during weekly meetings and other internal meetings.
- Oversee investments through disposition. This includes:
- Continuous interaction with management;
- Monitoring performance and internal reporting; and
- Supporting senior management team members and the board of directors within AGR’s partner companies to support strategic initiatives, M&A and corporate development activities.
- Originate new investment ideas and themes.
- Establish and maintain relationships with industry, trade and professional organizations to enhance visibility of the firm and its portfolio companies in the marketplace.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate has Bachelor’s degree plus 1 – 3 years of advisory and/or investing experience from either an investment bank or a private equity / credit fund. A significant portion of that experience should be in leveraged finance, M&A, restructuring or sponsor coverage. This professional must have a history of professional and academic success and a high degree of intellectual horsepower. An ideal candidate will possess:
