DIRECTOR or VICE PRESIDENT

Status:  Full-time, Employee
Job Location: Chicago, IL and/or Davis, CA

This is a rare opportunity for an experienced investment professional to join an expanding team at the Director or Vice President Level at AGR Partners. The firm is looking for a leader with outstanding asset management and the ability to lead and manage a deal team.

Key Responsibilities

  • This team member will be involved in all the key areas of the firm’s business model: origination, execution and portfolio management.
    • Origination: Business and relationship development with senior corporate individuals and the ability to proactively propose investment ideas, and engage in research and development of investment ideas across the market for portfolio expansion.
    • Execution & Due Diligence: Manage the transaction process, structuring and negotiating the detailed terms of the investment opportunity.
    • Portfolio management: Play an active role in working alongside portfolio companies as a value-added partner in the business.

Requirements:

  • Experience investing in different levels of the capital structure and familiar with a variety of transactional situations, including buyouts, restructurings and numerous types of minority holdings with at least 10 years of financial experience.
  • MBA and/or CFA is desirable.
  • Excellent quantitative analysis skills to support and inform the decision-making processes.
  • Management and organizational development skills.
  • Strong team player and self-reliant contributor.
  • Regular travel required.

ASSOCIATE

Job Location: Davis, CA

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated self-starter willing to work in a fast-paced environment with the opportunity for growth.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Work directly with the senior team members and gain experience in the pursuit, analysis, and completion of food and agribusiness investments.
  • Provide investment support to the AGR team.
  • Participate in the creation and presentation of data essential to the decision-making process of the firm’s leadership and investors.
  • Conduct extensive financial modeling, including sensitivity analysis, to support potential investment opportunities.
  • Provide initial investment review and screening of prospective investment opportunities for the firm as well as tracking of the firm’s investment pipeline.
  • Provide ongoing monitoring of assets with the firm’s portfolios including review of monthly operating results and maintaining project pro forma.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with industry, trade and professional organizations to enhance visibility of the firm and its portfolio companies in the market place.
  • Support the firm’s investment team with projects that increase productivity.
  • Travel up to 25% of the month.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, Finance, Accounting, or Economics with 3 years related work experience.
  • Strong analytical skills including the ability to perform company valuations, prepare investment reports, and compile data.
  • Experience in the agriculture or food industry is a positive.
  • Investing Experience, personal and/or professional
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, work on multiple projects simultaneously, track responsibilities and meet deadlines.
  • Detail oriented, responsible, and conscientious.
  • Strong team player.
  • An inquiring mind and an interest in learning.
  • Ability to enjoy and contribute to a collegial, small-firm culture.
